During the halftime break of the match between Flamengo and Internacional, at 19:30 pm this Wednesday (22.10), family members of Flamengo idols from the first three-time state championship (1942-43-44) will enter the field to receive a personalized Sacred Mantle as a gift. Today, Flamengo is the five-time Rio de Janeiro champion. The historic achievement of the Most Beloved completes 70 years next Wednesday (29.10).
Valido's daughter, Ana, will take the field. The Argentine right winger scored the winning goal in the third championship they won against Vasco in 1944, at Gávea. Antonio Bria, Modesto Bria's son, will represent the player who was a starter in the final stretch of the 1943 Carioca Championship and throughout the 1944 State Championship campaign. Also on the field tonight is Jayme de Almeida, Jayme's son, who captained Flamengo in its first three-time state championship. The left-back also became the coach of the Mais Querido, like his son.
Flamengo's Historical Heritage has been paying tribute to the great names in the club's history, celebrating birthdays each month or celebrating important titles in the club's history.
