NOTIFICATION
against SÃO PAULO FUTEBOL CLUBE, for the FACTUAL reasons set out below:
As is public knowledge, the 1987 national football championship was organized by Clube dos Treze, and was called “Copa União”.
As Your Excellency knows better than anyone, since the Presidency of Clube dos Treze was at the time of the events held by the then President of São Paulo, Mr. Carlos Miguel Aidar, Clube dos Treze, of which São Paulo Futebol is a part, unanimously recognized, and recognizes, that Flamengo was crowned Brazilian Champion in 1987, being the winner of the Copa União (green module of the championship).
At the time of the events, Clube dos Treze itself decided not to accept the crossover between the winners of the green and yellow modules proposed by the Brazilian Football Confederation.
In view of this, none of the member clubs of the Clube dos Treze should accept receiving the trophy for five-time Brazilian champion, as they recognize Flamengo as the 1987 champion and the legitimate first five-time Brazilian champion.
For this reason, despite knowing that this procedure would not be necessary, considering that Your Excellency is an honorable man and a true gentleman, and given the close relationship between the clubs, Clube de Regatas do Flamengo hereby notifies São Paulo Futebol Clube to refrain from receiving the trophy for winning five Brazilian championships (five-time Brazilian champion trophy), or, if it does so, arrange for the immediate delivery of said trophy to Gávea, at Avenida Borges de Medeiros, No. 997, Rio de Janeiro, the only place where it may legitimately be displayed.
