Flamengo will participate in the 1st National Beach Soccer Circuit
The women's team, current Rio de Janeiro champion, is the favorite to win the competition

Flamengo's men's and women's teams will participate in the 1st National Beach Soccer Circuit, which will be held in Rio de Janeiro from July 11th to 14th. Eight teams will compete for the men's title, while only four will compete in the women's competition. Tulio Santoro, Flamengo's sports supervisor, considers the Mais Querido girls favorites to win.
"The goal is the title. The team is the same as last year, so it's very close," said the supervisor. Flamengo's women's team was created in 2012 and won the Campeonato Carioca in 2013.
The men's competition will be between under-20 teams, a category created this year in the Mais Querido beach soccer team. The red-and-black star is captain Patrick, who also plays for the senior team. "We want to reach the finals because Flamengo is a club with tradition. The title will be a consequence of good work," said Tulio Santoro.
