Flamengo held a celebration party for its employees this Thursday (23.12). Around 350 people attended the barbecue at the club's nautical headquarters, on the banks of Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas. And as expected, the atmosphere was the best possible, after all, it had been years since the red-and-black workers had had a problem-free end of the year.
In addition to receiving Christmas baskets and a celebratory party, Flamengo employees ended 2010 with their salaries up to date, their 13th-month bonus paid, and their full FGTS (Unemployment Fund for Severance Indemnity) deposited by the club. These were rights they previously didn't have.
"We're really enjoying this get-together. Seeing the employees having fun, without having to worry about other things, in such a pleasant place like this is great. This unity among the people who work for Flamengo is also very important. The board of directors is to be congratulated, as is the president, who is a mother, wife, and head of the family," said Cosme de Souza, head of Flamengo's carpentry department, who has dedicated 29 years to the club.
Also very happy with the celebration at Flamengo's nautical headquarters, the sport's manager and former Flamengo athlete, Dênis Marinho, praised the stance adopted by the board in 2010 and predicts further improvements in the coming years.
"Flamengo is experiencing a very positive moment, one of unity. Salaries are up to date, employees are happy, and it is a great honor for us, the rowing community, to welcome everyone to our nautical headquarters," Dênis concluded.
The event concluded with a performance by the percussion section of the Beija Flor samba school from Nilópolis, and with wishes for many victories for Flamengo, not only in 2011, but also in the years to come.
