Flamengo hosts the 6th Football Medicine Forum in November

Sports medicine experts will gather on November 28th at Flamengo's headquarters. Organized by the SOMA group, the XNUMXth Football Medicine Forum will feature professionals from the fields of Sports Cardiology, Orthopedics, Nutrition, Dentistry, Psychology, Physiotherapy, and Physical Education, all related to the performance of high-level football athletes. The event will be chaired by Dr. Serafim Borges, the football department physician.
Speakers include Carlos Alberto Parreira, coach of the Brazilian national soccer team in the 1994 and 2006 World Cups, as well as doctors Dr. Serafim Borges, Dr. Jose Antonio Caldas Texeira, and Dr. José Luiz Runco. Also present will be Dr. Fernando Cruz, Dr. Paulo Afonso Lourega de Menezes, Prof. Paulo Figueiredo, Prof. Carlos Alexandre de Assis, Dr. Stela Pedreira, Dr. Silvia Ferreira, Dr. Leonardo Reis, and Dr. Paulo Ribeiro.
Four commented conferences are planned, on the following topics: "Functional Assessment of the Footballer: Ergometry or Cardiopulmonary Stress Test?"; "How to Identify the Athlete at Risk of Sudden Death Due to Arrhythmia?"; "Pre-Participation Assessment of the Footballer. Physiological Aspects of Greatest Importance"; "The Footballer's Knee. Clinical and Imaging Aspects; What to Value?".
There will be two interdisciplinary round tables, debating six themes: "Psychologist and the Technical Committee; "Physiology x Physical Preparation Interface", "What is the ideal diet for a footballer?", "Pre-participation protocols from the footballer's mouth", "The day-to-day life of a football physiotherapist", "Division Sum Model of football management".
The activities will take place in the Rogério Steimberg auditorium, at Flamengo's Social Headquarters.
Registration, which costs R$60,00, can be completed in the Soma Division Room at the club's headquarters, located at Av. Borges de Medeiros, 997 Lagoa, Rio de Janeiro. Students with proof of enrollment receive a 50% discount.
