During the week of its 117th anniversary, Flamengo, in partnership with Cadima Sports Group, will host the Intercontinental Cidade Maravilhosa Beach Soccer Cup. The matches will be played at the Maestro Junior Arena in Gávea, from November 13th to 18th.

The tournament will feature four Brazilian teams and eight foreign teams. Among the Brazilian teams are Flamengo, Vasco, Botafogo, and Geração Sports. The international attractions include Inter Milan (Italy), Ajax (Netherlands), Porto (Portugal), Spartak Moscow (Russia), Tijuana (Mexico), and Alshabab (United Arab Emirates) in the men's competition, and Tijuana (Mexico), USL SEL (USA), Selection Quebec B (Canada), and Selection Quebec (Canada) in the women's competition.

The teams will be divided into two groups, A and B. In the men's competition, Flamengo is in Group A along with Al Shabab FC Dubai, Spartak Moscow, and FC Porto. In the women's competition, they are also in Group A, with the Quebec B team, USL/Major Beach Soccer – USA, and Club Tijuana (MFX).  

According to the rules, the teams play each other in the first phase and then the first and second placed teams from the group phase meet to play the semi-finals and the final.

On Tuesday (13.11), the championship opening ceremony will take place at 8:30 am, and the Tournament Kickoff at 11 am. On Wednesday (14.11), the first matches will be held. The men's teams will play in the morning and the women's teams in the afternoon. On Sunday (18.11), the men's finals will be played at 13:30 pm, broadcast on SPORTV, and the women's finals will be played at 11 am.
