Flamengo has the best average attendance in the Brasileirão in the last five years

Even without achieving the long-awaited place in the Libertadores, Rubro-Negro had record support from the fans throughout the competition.

The fans did their best to support Flamengo and packed the Maracanã stadium throughout the Brazilian Championship. Even though they didn't qualify for the Libertadores, the red-and-blacks can be proud of having done their part in the stands. An average of 40.694 fans attended the stadium to support the Rio de Janeiro team throughout the 38 rounds of the competition. This is the best attendance for any team in the last five years.

The red-and-black average was well above the national average. Overall, the average attendance for the Brasileirão was 16.966 people per game. A total of 6.429.954 people filled Brazilian stadiums. This is the second-highest attendance in the last five years. The best figure was in 2007: 17.461.

Among the ten largest attendances in the championship, Flamengo again dominated. Five matches were played with the Rio de Janeiro team at home. The best-attended match was Flamengo 0-3 Atlético-MG, a match in the 29th round, which had 77.387 fans. Among the ten worst attendances, practically only Ipatinga was present. Eight of these matches were played with the Minas Gerais team at home. Surprisingly, the worst of all, however, was Santos 4-0 Atlético-PR, in the 28th round, which had a crowd of 153 fans.
