Flamengo sells Hublots to members and raises more than R$100
Models were raffled and auctioned at an event at the club's headquarters. The money raised will be invested in the training center.
By Communication - Official Club Website - inOn Tuesday night, at a meeting at the Gávea headquarters, Flamengo raised R$102.600,00 by selling six Hublot watches to Flamengo members. This sale was advertised for 30 days on the club's official website and internal channels. All members were able to participate in the event.
Five of these watches were used by the former Flamengo board. The sixth, unused, was in Flamengo's safe due to the decision of president Eduardo Bandeira de Mello—who had received the watch as an inauguration gift—to leave it as club property.
The pieces, made especially in honor of Flamengo, were raffled and auctioned among 14 members, who agreed to pay at least R$15 for each watch. All proceeds will be invested in the George Helal Training Center, known as Ninho do Urubu.
"Keeping the watches in Flamengo's safe deposit box made no sense. Now, they are in good hands. The Flamengo fans who volunteered to participate in this event are leaving here very happy, especially because they are helping the club," said Rodrigo Tostes, Flamengo's vice president of finance, who attended the event.
"When Flamengo announced this sale, I was eager to participate. I wasted no time in applying. This watch will be passed down through future generations of my family. I'm very happy to help Flamengo too," said one of the buyers, Leonardo Rocha.
