Flamengo closes 2007 with an operating surplus for the fourth consecutive year.

Flamengo ended the 2007 fiscal year with revenues of 89 million reais and expenses of 85 million reais. The budget anticipated revenues of 90 million reais and expenses of 87 million reais. In other words, for the first time in the club's history, the club's budget was practically equal to the actual amount, with an operating surplus of 4 million reais, while the budget had predicted 3,5 million reais. Furthermore, the board managed to creatively and crediblely assemble a squad valued at 50 million euros, according to experts.

The accumulated operating surplus during Márcio Braga's administration totals approximately 37 million reais. To give you an idea of the importance of these figures, the accumulated deficit between 1999 and 2002 totaled approximately 150 million reais.

It is also important to highlight that several entries and updates were made, as well as some write-offs from fiscal years prior to 2002. Examples: Atlético de Madrid, updating of taxes due to the loss of Refis, Petkovic, Rodrigo Mendes, PSP (security company), Caio Produções, etc... the balance of these entries and updates caused the club's debt, declared in its balance sheet, to be increased by approximately 60 million reais.

Revenue projections for 2008 exceed 100 million reais, and for 2009, above 150 million reais.

If we continue with this austerity strategy, we will certainly reach 2014 with Flamengo fully balanced and without any civil or labor debt. Since the tax debt was adjusted through Timemania, we have concluded that we are on the right track.
