Female employees are honored on International Women's Day
Patrícia Amorim organized breakfast and gave gifts to her club teammates

International Women's Day 2010 will be a landmark event in Flamengo's history. And not only because it's the first time the date is celebrated with a woman as president of the club. Patrícia Amorim, with the support of partners Baziline, Olympikus, and Batavo, offered breakfast to the club's female employees and greeted each one individually. This closer relationship with the Flamengo women was celebrated by both parties, as it's another unprecedented achievement within the club.
Patrícia Amorim attended the event and made a point of speaking to everyone present. After the initial greetings, she gave a speech, explaining everything that has been done in these two months of her administration, always thanking everyone for the support received both inside and outside of Gávea.
"Today is a festive day for us women. I don't usually fail to celebrate important dates, because I think they should be remembered and celebrated in some way. And today couldn't be any different. After all, it's our day. A club run by a woman needs to honor its female employees," said Patricia Amorim, who also participated in the Mais Você program.
The president also thanked each of Flamengo's female employees for their work. According to Patrícia, the club has a lot of room to grow, especially with this support.
"I count on the support and strength of each and every one of you to make Flamengo even greater. I want to hand over the club in three years' time in better shape than I found it today. And, to achieve that, I will work tirelessly. You can be sure of that. Congratulations to all of you on this day," said Patrícia.
Delighted with the 'gift', the employees expressed their gratitude for the attention received, as well as the gifts they received from Flamengo's partners. Francisca Ferreira Freire, known as Chiquinha, an executive advisor to the boards, who has worked at the club for 18 years and for 23 years as an executive advisor to the boards, sees the meeting as a paradigm shift.
"Without a doubt, this initiative is revolutionary. Brazil is very sexist, as are all football clubs. It's the first time, since its founding, that Flamengo has a woman holding the position of president. Our time has come! Because she's a woman, a girl, she's going to break this taboo," said Chiquinha.
Helena Pires da Silva, better known as Mô, the president's cleaning lady, who has been with CR F for 14 years, truly felt like part of Flamengo.
"I think everything is very chic. She, Patricia, is the best. In the 14 years I've worked here, I've never seen an event like this. It's great for bringing together the female employees who aren't always together," explained Mô.
Also with a long history at the club - 10 years - Márcia Mattos, secretary of the Rowing department, summed up in a few words everything the employees were feeling.
"It was an unprecedented event, which pleased the employees immensely. Patricia is universally loved among us," said Márcia.
And it wasn't just the long-time employees who had their day celebrated alongside the president. Those who have been at the club for a short time received the same treatment as the others.

All female employees of Flamengo received an Olympikus jacket, a certificate of appreciation, and a poem written by Regina Melo. In addition, the breakfast included a raffle with prizes such as: Braziline shirts, Marc 4 caps, club beer mugs, and the poem's author's book.
