New showers with hot water, whirlpool tubs, and more spacious closets, plus a special corner with a photo of each player: this is Flamengo's new professional soccer locker room.

The renovation of the site, which began in December of last year, is not yet complete, according to Juruna, the club's administration manager and responsible for the works.

"First, we renovated the field, which is now one of the best in Rio de Janeiro. Then we built the press room, as journalists often complained about having nowhere to stay. And now the players' locker room. We still plan to finish the coaching staff's locker room," said the employee. In addition to new bathtubs, showers, and lockers, the Flamengo fans also received two air conditioners and a meeting room, which will also have a large screen and a data projector. A club employee for 12 years, Juruna says that in 2008 he received many complaints about the structure of the Gávea club. By the end of December, there was no doubt that something had to be done to improve the locker room. Through a partnership with Fla Boutique—the club's official store—and Time—the group that coordinates the soccer schools—it was possible to get started, since the renovations could only be completed at the end of the season. "Thanks to the financial support of these partners, we were able to complete the renovations. Everything turned out simple, but very beautiful, and most importantly, the players approved."
