Gávea and CT lawns have FIFA standards
The company that renovated the field at Flamengo's headquarters will also maintain the five lawns at CT George Helal, in Vargem Grande.

After the World Cup, when the Dutch national soccer team used the Gávea Stadium pitch for training, a significant legacy was left for Flamengo's headquarters. Thanks to the excellent work done by the company hired by FIFA to renovate the club's pitch, Flamengo extended the service to the George Helal Training Center. Now, the Gávea pitch and the five pitches at Ninho do Urubu have the same standard as the World Cup pitches.
"Greenleaf had been hired by FIFA to renovate the Gávea field for the Dutch national team. They came to the club and did a beautiful job. Because of this, the vice presidents, who saw the turf, wanted to preserve it. The company then proposed extending the service to the five fields at the Vargem Grande training center in addition to the grass here at the club's headquarters. We negotiated for two weeks and then decided to enter into a contract with a small portion of the exchange, including tickets and use of our brand for advertising, and the larger portion paid. It runs until the end of 2015 and is renewable as many times as we wish," explained Flamengo's general manager of administration, Marcelo Helman.
In addition to Flamengo's home field, the stands and locker room were renovated to house the Dutch national team throughout its World Cup participation, during its time in Rio de Janeiro. Alongside the pitch, highly praised by the media, FIFA, and distinguished European guests, the club gained reserve benches, one of the locker rooms (the other had already been renovated since 2013), coolers, balls, bags for sports equipment, cones, rotating goalposts, new fixed goalposts, new nets, and all the football facilities were painted.
