Flamengo volunteer group reports on game at Mineirão
Gease-Fla points out improvements for fans as Galo's bus enters the Flamengo fan gate

There's a group of volunteer Flamengo fans who follow Flamengo throughout Brazil as part of the Special Group for Joy and Safety in Stadiums, or simply Gease-Fla. For them, helping to uphold fan rights is as important as supporting their beloved club.
Having attended every Flamengo game in the Brasileirão, they were determined not to miss the clash against Atlético-MG. Not only for the sporting significance of the match, but for everything surrounding it. Earlier this week, they warned president Marcio Braga about possible hostile acts by the Galo fans against the red-and-black delegation and Flamengo fans in Belo Horizonte. Braga even sent a letter to the Governor of Minas Gerais, Aécio Neves, requesting security.
This Sunday, three volunteers will be at Mineirão Stadium: Marcelo Santos, Júlio Veloso, and Mercio Querido. They will be writing the reports they usually do on everything that happens during the games.
"We collect all kinds of fan-related information: transportation, security, ticket sales. In addition to post-game reports, we now also send a pre-game report with all the information fans need to know about the stadium," Júlio explained.
In this game at Mineirão, they highlighted several areas that could be improved. The Flamengo fan section is one of them.
"Gate 2 is between two entrances for the Galo fans. So much so that people have been thrown rocks at people. It would be better to stay at 13. Exiting the stadium from here will be very complicated. Either leave a little before the game ends, or wait inside the stadium. Otherwise, there's a huge chance of trouble outside," said Marcelo.
A few minutes after he said this, the bus with the Atlético-MG team passed through the Flamengo fans, at gate 2, to enter Mineirão.
According to Marcelo and Júlio, other problems detected were the huge number of ticket scalpers (and an average of R$90 per ticket) and the (permitted) sale of alcoholic beverages around the stadium.
