Flamengo idol and 1958 World Cup winner with the Brazilian national team, Moacir Claudino Pinto visited Gávea on Wednesday afternoon (12.09), after 40 years away from Brazil. The former number 8 was a Flamengo player from 1956 to 1962 and in those seven years he played 237 games, scoring 59 goals and being 47th on the list of top scorers for the Gávea club.

The former attacking midfielder was one of four Flamengo players to win the first World Cup, and also played for teams in Argentina, Uruguay and Ecuador, where he has lived for 40 years.

"Being here after so long is very exciting. Everything is wonderful and extraordinary here in Gávea. The experience I had at this club will never be forgotten and that's why I'm still a Flamengo fan," declared Moacir.

In addition to being welcomed by President Patricia Amorim and receiving a personalized shirt, with the number he wore at Flamengo, Moacir also had the emotion of meeting an old teammate, striker Evaristo de Macedo.

"It was a joy to meet Evaristo after so many years, it's great to be here in Gávea and relive the moments of glory that I experienced and will never forget," he concluded.
