The first mass in the new Flamengo chapel was held by Father Roger, at his request, as the fulfillment of a personal dream.

Father Roger spoke emotionally during the mass:

- I was born in a suburb of Brasília and one of the greatest joys I had in my childhood was seeing Flamengo win so many titles with the 1981 generation. At that time, I delivered newspapers, and I had the pleasure of delivering them with the photo of the world champion team!

Before the mass, Father Roger closely followed the Flamengo football team's training session and, at the end, received an official team shirt given to him by the players and coaching staff.

After Mass, the priest was invited to visit the club's facilities, going to the trophy room where he could take photos next to the World Cup and Libertadores Cup trophies.

Father Roger, who lives in São Paulo, came to Rio accompanied by a group of red-and-black fans who live in that city. He is leaving for the Vatican.
