Brazil failed to finish its participation in the Artistic Gymnastics World Championships in Stuttgart, Germany, with another medal. Jade Barbosa finished seventh in the balance beam final. During her performance, she fell off the apparatus and lost points, finishing with a score of 14.575. American Anastasia Liukin took gold with a score of 16.025. The silver and bronze medals went to Romania's Steliana Nestor and China's Shanshan Li, respectively, with the same score of 15.900.

Jade was fourth on the balance beam, right after favorite Shawn Johnson of the United States. The American suffered two falls, leaving her far behind in the gold medal race. She finished in 8th place with a score of 14.475. The Brazilian lost her balance and fell once, losing points. Even so, she managed to finish ahead of Shawn, 0.100 points ahead.

Last Friday, Jade made Brazilian gymnastics history at the World Championships. She was the first Brazilian to win a medal in the individual all-around competition. She took bronze in the event. This Saturday, Jade also placed fifth on vault.
