Striker Josiel made his Flamengo debut yesterday in the 2-0 loss to São Paulo at Morumbi Stadium. The player pleased some fans and displeased others. Like all debutants, Josiel felt a lack of chemistry and match rhythm.

In an exclusive interview to FLAMENGO RJ, yesterday, at Flamengo's arrival at Santos Dumont airport, Josiel spoke about Flamengo's debut and current situation in the Brazilian championship.

Evaluation of the debut for Flamengo:

"For me, it was as expected. I hadn't played in a long time, and I struggled due to the lack of connection with my teammates. I only had one "proper" practice with the group, and that made it a bit difficult. But that's no excuse for the defeat. I know I can perform better, and I have to improve."

Result for Flamengo:

"We played below expectations. We conceded a goal late in the first half that changed the course of the match. If that goal hadn't happened, the second half could have been a different story. We need to remain calm and work hard to turn this situation around at home."

"We have to think about the title. We have a chance and many games ahead. We'll have home games, and we're confident we can make a run for it."
