Kleber Leite confirms: 'Sport recognized it'

The controversy surrounding the polka-dot trophy sparked a new reaction from the club's board. According to president Márcio Braga and vice-president of football Kléber Leite, Sport signed a document pledging that both it and Flamengo would be the 1987 champions. This officially makes the club from Gávea the first five-time Brazilian champion.

The president of Flamengo explains that an agreement was made for the Pernambuco club to join the Club of 13. In this agreement, director Milton Caldas Bivar would have signed the agreement confirming Flamengo's title.

Kléber Leite, more detailed, confirmed that the president of the CBF, Ricardo Teixeira, is about to receive the document from the hands of Fábio Koff, president of the Club of 13.

"This document will be delivered personally by Fábio Koff. This has not been done so far due to other commitments by the CBF president. It just depends on their schedules, but I guarantee that Sport has signed the document recognizing Flamengo's title," he concluded.
