Kleberson maintains hope of playing in the World Cup
Midfielder hopes to have a good season at Flamengo and be called up by Dunga
By Privacy Policy - inHaving recovered from a right shoulder injury, Kleberson returned to the Flamengo team in the final rounds of the Brazilian Championship. However, this physical problem ended up keeping the midfielder out of the national team. Now, he has the first months of 2010 to prove to coach Dunga that he can wear the yellow jersey again at the World Cup in South Africa.
\"I have hope. There's still some time and I'm going to try. I know the group is formed, but I'm very motivated to try and give it my all this year and secure a spot in the World Cup," said the player.
\Kleberson has a history with the national team. The midfielder was a starter in the campaign for the fifth World Cup title in 2002, in Korea and Japan. Therefore, he still holds even more hope that his experience can make a difference when Dunga decides on the squad.
\"This can make all the difference, and I hope it does. Experience is sometimes important, even more so in a World Cup. I was fortunate enough to play in one, to win one. If that works in my favor, it will be very good," he concluded.
