As the season draws to a close, much work remains underway at Ninho do Urubu. Brahma, Brazil's largest football investor, is partnering with Flamengo to build Module 17, one of the most important areas of the Training Center in Vargem Grande. And the participation of Brazil's largest fan base has been crucial to the completion of the Ninho do Urubu project. The first section to be completed will be the state-of-the-art Press Room, scheduled for the second half of next month.

In Brahma's structuring marketing project, part of the revenue from each Brahma sold in the states of Rio and Espírito Santo goes to the Brahmeiro Fund. At the end of each year, the proceeds are divided among the Rio de Janeiro teams, proportionally based on their participation on the clubs' Brahma Facebook pages.

Currently, the BrahmaFla fan page is followed by approximately 1,8 million fans who interact with news, promotions, and, recently, game broadcasts on Rádio Brahma Futebol Show. Through the BrahmaFla page and Flamengo's official Facebook page, fans were able to choose the entire layout of Module 17 through a vote.

"The fans are a fundamental part of building this project. We want them to have an active voice in our actions, ensuring that we are leaving a legacy for their club. We have already managed to build a field (5) where the players have been training and, now, creating a first-world infrastructure in the professional module," said Rafael Pulcinelli, Brahma's Football Manager.

According to him, the hardest part is over, with earthworks, foundations, and walls built. The goal is to concentrate the players' work on Field 5 with Module 17, which will have, next to the field, a weight room with state-of-the-art equipment, a space for coaches and meetings, locker rooms for athletes and coaching staff, and a recovery pool.

"After 28 years, the George Helal Training Center is a reality. Proof of this is that we will hold our 2013 preseason at our Training Center, something that has never happened before in the club's history. When we arrived three years ago, we found two poorly maintained fields, a practically abandoned lot. We started from scratch, obtained 38 environmental permits, and even had to install light poles. Today, we have five fields, the professional module is 80% complete, and we already have the resources to finish the rest. The future has already begun," said Flamengo president Patricia Amorim.

"It was inconceivable for a club like Flamengo not to have its own Training Center, and we, with the help of our partner Brahma, and with great courage, are giving this gift to the club and its fans."

Planning and execution
During the Brazilian Championship, Brahma and Flamengo met numerous times to plan the first major step within Ninho do Urubu. By consensus, infrastructure work began for the athletes and media.

"Since the project's inception, Brahma has been a key partner in this journey to complete the construction, after so many years, of our long-awaited training center. I can confirm that very soon we will be providing professional soccer players with a world-class facility, worthy of Flamengo's greatness," explained Alexandre Wrobel, Flamengo's Vice President of Assets.

The inauguration of the spaces will be done in parts, according to the completion of the works, which depends on the finishing, acquisition of equipment and ambiance chosen by the fans.

"Talking with the club's board, we understand the total focus on CT Ninho do Urubu. We insist on fan participation in this process. With the union of the largest fan base in the country, Brahma, and Flamengo, I'm sure the club will become even stronger," added Rafael Pulcinelli, Brahma's manager.

The first area to be inaugurated will be the new press room, which will be completed later this year and will provide comfort for journalists covering Flamengo. The facility will be one of the most modern in Brazil.
