Executive announces that Flamengo's football team will separate from the club in 2008

The mayor of Rio de Janeiro, César Maia, announced that he will recognize Flamengo's fans as a Cultural Asset of the City and the president of Flamengo, Marcio Braga, did not hide his happiness and assured that, this season, the Nação Rubro-Negra proved that it is the biggest fan base in the world.

The director explained that, in 2008, Flamengo will give autonomy to football, separating the sport from the club and transforming it into a business society, so that resources can be managed directly within the football budget.
