The President cried when speaking about the preservation of the Red-Black Nation

LANCEPRESS!

After seeing Flamengo's fan club declared a Cultural Heritage Site of the city of Rio de Janeiro, club president Márcio Braga went to the City Palace on Tuesday to pay tribute to Rio de Janeiro Mayor César Maia, presenting him with a personalized Flamengo fan club jersey. During the ceremony and the subsequent exchange of tributes, the president of the country's most popular club became quite emotional.

"You're receiving the number 12 jersey, which reflects what made Flamengo famous: grit, love, and passion (pause)... I'm moved by the understanding of a public figure like César Maia for the Flamengo institution. Not only because of the fans, but also because of what the institution means in the development of athletes, doctors, and professionals. This understanding that we develop citizens. What appears at Maracanã is the expression of Flamengo's greatness," Márcio said emotionally.

The leader once again classified the Nação Rubro-Negra as Flamengo's main asset, in addition to praising Mayor César Maia.

"We are living in a wonderful, remarkable moment. A day when César Maia declared the club's fans a cultural heritage site. As one fan said during the tribute, I repeat: César Maia was enlightened when he declared the red-and-black fans a Cultural Heritage of Rio de Janeiro, because the fans are Clube de Regatas do Flamengo's greatest asset—it's its fans," he celebrated.
