Midfielder Renato Augusto, who underwent surgery on Monday to repair fractured facial bones, received a visit from Flamengo president Márcio Braga on Tuesday. During Flamengo's opening match in the Campeonato Carioca, the player collided with Boavista defender Édson and suffered serious injuries. He will be discharged this Wednesday to continue his recovery at home.
Márcio Braga said that the surgery site is quite swollen, but that Renato is motivated to recover quickly.
- The right side of his face is still very swollen, but he's fine, very confident that he'll be back playing soon - he says.
In an interview with GLOBOESPORTE.COM this Tuesday, the doctor who performed the surgery on Renato Augusto, Augusto César Lima, said that the player is very anxious to return home.
