DEAR RUBRO-NEGRO
We have reached the end of the first year of this new Board of Directors’ term.
Certainly, everything we achieved was due to the great effort and harmony that existed between all its members.
The political union between Chapa Amarela and Chapa Rosa in the last election was of fundamental importance, where we left aside political and personal interests, focusing on the reorganization and recovery of the credibility of CLUBE DE REGATAS DO FLAMENGO.
In 2007, in the administrative and social fields, we managed to:
Fiscal realignment; consolidating the club's credibility with financial institutions; promoting membership growth with an average of 500 new members per month; renovating the medical department; implementing improvements to the Aquatic Park, with repairs to the lighting system and reactivation of the waterfall in the social pool; improvements to the Rowing area and the entire Tennis complex; renovating the Bocce area and the social restrooms; restoring the Flapel field; enabling the construction of the Chapel of Saint Jude Thaddeus; renovating the Sports Courts; restoring much of Gávea's green areas; creating the Fla-Mulher (Flamengo) program with the formation of the FLAMENGO choir; among other smaller actions that were carried out.
In terms of sporting achievements, we highlight:
Carioca Professional Championship; Junior Championship for the third time; Youth Championship for the second time; Children's Championship and third place in the Brazilian Championship, securing a place in the Libertadores.
We also had a delegation of 23 athletes participate in the Pan American Games, winning 10 medals, and we were champions in Swimming, Basketball and Rowing.
Seeing FLAMENGO growing and achieving victories in the sporting and social fields is certainly the greatest desire of the RUBRO-NEGRA NATION and the reason for all our work.
HEALTH, PEACE AND HAPPINESS IN 2008.
DELAIR DUMBROSCK
Vice President General
