The bibliography about Flamengo gains a boost on Tuesday night (24/11), with the launch event of three new books, all by Editora Leitura: "Meu maior prazer" and "O team do meu coração", by sports journalists Carlos Eduardo Mansur and Luciano Ribeiro; and a children's book, "Uma vez Flamengo, sempre Flamengo!", by Eduardo de Ávila. The launch event, with the authors present, begins at 19 pm, at the Saraiva bookstore in the Rio Sul shopping mall, in Botafogo, Rio de Janeiro.
At 296 pages, "Meu maior prazer" is the first book in the debut collection of the "Paixão entre Linhas" imprint, published by Editora Leitura. The work features 32 accounts of red-and-black personalities, in interviews conducted and organized by journalists Carlos Eduardo Mansur and Luciano Ribeiro – including conversations with Emperor Adriano and the Serbian Petkovic. The suggested retail price is R$29,00.
With a suggested price of R$12,90, "O Time do Meu Coração" (The Team of My Heart), by the same authors, is a pocket-sized book summarizing Flamengo's history, including titles, decade-by-decade history, great idols, top scorers, and unforgettable matches. Carlos Eduardo Mansur is a reporter for the newspaper O Globo. Luciano Ribeiro works for the portal GloboEsporte.com.
Part of the "Paixão entre Linhas" (Passion Between Lines) imprint, the book "Once Flamengo, Always Flamengo!" features a 20-page comic strip in which five young Flamengo fans share everything they know about the feeling that unites them. Completely in four colors, the book tells, for example, how the club's soccer department came into being after a group of Fluminense players split, among other curious anecdotes. The suggested retail price is R$7,90.
