Flamengo Museum announces centennial activities
After the success of Expo-81, the "Legendário Flamengo" exhibition will travel throughout Brazil

With construction well underway, the Flamengo Museum is already an active entity within Flamengo. After the huge success of the exhibition on the club's greatest achievements, the Libertadores and the 1981 World Cup, fans from several cities across Brazil will be able to experience another exhibition up close, called "Legendário Flamengo." This will be another event commemorating the centenary of Brazil's Most Beloved football club.
On the evening of this Thursday (03.05), during the Papo de Rubro-negro event, also organized by the Flamengo Museum, director Mauro Chaves explained the importance of remembering and valuing Fla's glorious past.
"Today is a particularly happy day as we launch another traveling exhibition. This one will have the centennial of football as its theme and will also travel to several Brazilian states, as well as cities throughout Rio de Janeiro," explained Mauro Chaves, adding that other centennial icons were launched that same night.
"We also launched a commemorative logo designed by Ziraldo, as well as a commemorative shirt featuring the same logo. On the Official Website, we already had a commemorative page from the first minute of the 3rd. In addition, we will have more activities to celebrate this very important moment in our history."
The itinerary for the new exhibition at the Flamengo Museum will be announced soon on the Official Website.
'New' trophy'
Flamengo's Papo de Rubro-Negro also featured a new-old acquaintance. The 1987 Brazilian Championship trophy, the Copa União, which featured the eternal number 10, Zico, was on display at Gávea. The trophy, presented by Placar magazine to the Brazilian champions from 1987 onward, was not to be kept permanently and, in fact, only honored the Brazilian champions of 87 (Flamengo) and 88 (Bahia). Thus, it was returned to the magazine until, in 1990, during the Galinho de Quintino's farewell match, journalist Juca Kfouri decided to donate the trophy to the greatest idol in Flamengo's history. Zico kindly loaned the trophy to be part of the "Legendary Flamengo" exhibition.
