On Tuesday (16.11), Clube de Regatas do Flamengo took another important step towards immortalizing its history at the club's headquarters in Gávea. At an event attended by athletes, former athletes, directors, the press and, of course, fans - the afternoon's biggest honorees - the club and Olympikus presented the Flamengo Museum project, which has already begun to take shape and is scheduled to open on the 116th anniversary of the Most Beloved, on November 15, 2011.

All guests received a commemorative construction helmet, as well as having the opportunity to take photos next to the trophy from the 2009 Brazilian Championship, the Libertadores Cup, and the 1981 Interclub World Cup, and write messages to place in the time capsule, which will remain in the museum and will only be opened in 2020. In this capsule, newspapers, magazines, and videos from the Rio de Janeiro and international press, official shirts, and messages from fans, athletes, and celebrities were also placed by children from CIEP Nação Rubro-Negra.

President Patricia Amorim, moved, could only thank everyone for their presence and, especially, the support of Olympikus, Flamengo's great partner in the project.

"I can only thank you. I have great expectations for ten years from now, when this capsule is opened. The main message we conveyed today is that Flamengo is very big, very important to us, regardless of the situation. We can't breathe without Flamengo. And I want to especially thank Olympikus for everything. They are the best and biggest sports brand in Brazil. We couldn't dream of a better partner," he said.

The sports marketing director of the Vulcabrás/Azaleia group, Tulio Formiccola Filho, highlighted the importance of this project not only for Flamengo, but also for the city of Rio de Janeiro, and especially for the red-black fans, who will be the greatest beneficiaries of all this.

"There are 35 million fans who will have the opportunity to be honored with this museum. Flamengo deserves it, and so do these fans, who drive the club. None of these walls here convey that, but the content that will be here and launched in a year will convey that emotion and is also another step towards the future, with new glories, and not just a representation of the past. Furthermore, we want to make it a landmark in the city, a tourist attraction, for everyone who knows Rio to also visit the museum," he added.

A video featuring messages from some of Flamengo's greatest players was one of the highlights of the event. The moving video, featuring testimonials from Zagallo, Bebeto, Zico, Junior, Virna, Oscar, Leila, Patricia Amorim, Bernard, Bernardinho, Georgette Vidor, and Romário, drew applause and moved many in attendance.

The Flamengo Museum - The Flamengo Museum will house the largest collection of Brazilian football. It already has 12 cataloged items, including 1800 trophies. Olympikus, the official sports brand of the club, is investing R$8 million in the project. All proceeds will be covered by royalties from the sale of items and revenue from ten new stores that will be opened by the brand. The museum will have two floors and will occupy 2500 square meters of space, centrally located at the company headquarters.

The project is committed to both the past and the future, aiming to enhance and prepare the club's history, while also paving the way for new glories in the future. Among the attractions, one of the main attractions is the Timeline, with a large multimedia panel that will dominate the entire first floor. The Fan Show, featuring songs and historic moments of the Nation, is also promising. Additionally, there will be a dedicated space for the 1981 World Cup final and an area where fan interaction will be possible.

The Flamengo Museum is scheduled to open on November 15, 2011, the club's 116th anniversary. The time capsule, used as a key milestone in the museum's launch, will be opened 10 years from now, on November 15, 2020, the club's 125th anniversary.
