Nation promises a big party at Maracanã
A mosaic with 92 pieces is being prepared by organized fan groups for Sunday's game against Goiás.
By From the team at Flamengo's official website - inMaracanã is about to host one of the biggest parties in its 59-year history. And the main attraction isn't a famous singer or band, but rather the Nação Rubro-Negra (Red-Black Nation). Flamengo fans promise to put on a real show in the stands for next Sunday's match against Goiás, at 19:30 pm, in the Brazilian Championship. The match, which could give Flamengo the lead in the competition with two rounds remaining, will not only have a packed stadium but also be decorated in red and black.
\The club's organized supporters are preparing a massive mosaic, with 92 pieces, to cover every seat in the stadium, not just the yellow stands, as usual. The green and white stands, as well as the lower and special seats, will also join the fun on Sunday.
\"We've been very busy since last week. We started meeting, thinking, we contacted all the fans, we're all united and organizing to put on this great party. There will be 92 signs throughout the Maracanã and we're working hard to publicize this campaign," said Vitor Pimenta, member of the Urubuzada Management Board, who also highlighted the importance of unity among all the club's organized groups, such as Raça Rubro-Negra, Torcida Jovem and Fla-Manguaça.
\The party is so big that volunteers are being recruited to help with the organization, which will begin at 6 a.m. on Sunday, more than 13 hours before the ball rolls at Maracanã. Furthermore, the traditional lighting effects, balls, and confetti will also be part of the red-and-black decorations that the Greatest in the World will receive on Sunday. One of the club's greatest assets and the team's twelfth player, the Nação Rubro-Negra hopes to receive their reward on the field.
\"We've been waiting for this Brazilian title since 1992. We've never been so close, and we're going to do everything we can to push this team to win it. Flamengo is doing very well, coming from the bottom of the table, calmly going through one by one, and now we're in second place. Who knows, maybe we'll take the lead on Sunday? We're confident, this is the moment, and we'll support the team from start to finish," Vitor added.
