Buoyed by their victories in the Campeonato Carioca and the Taça OPG, Flamengo's youth team debuted in the Brazilian Championship this Monday at the Passo D'Areia Stadium in Porto Alegre. Flamengo performed well, defeating Palmeiras 1-0 in Group A of the competition.

The only goal of the match was scored by midfielder Antônio in the 27th minute of the first half. In the second half, Palmeiras hit the crossbar twice but were unable to equalize.
