On Wednesday afternoon (October 09.10), a red and black club was training at the Hélio Maurício Gymnasium, at the Gávea headquarters. But it wasn't Flamengo, but the Chicago Bulls, an American NBA team. The team's biggest star, Noah, wore the Sacred Mantle and proudly walked around the court while giving interviews, with his great gift. Excited about the Mais Querido jersey, he assured that he will watch Jayme de Almeida's team's match against Internacional, this Thursday (October 10.10), at Maracanã.
"I don't know much about Flamengo, but I've heard one thing: the fans are madly passionate about the team. I'm going to Maracanã tomorrow and I'm very excited about it. I can't wait to see the energy of the fans. I'll be wearing my new jersey, which I think is very nice," said the NBA star.
The Chicago Bulls trained at their Gávea headquarters, as they will face the Washington Wizards next Saturday (October 12.10) at the HSBC Arena in an NBA preseason game. During the thirty minutes that the training session was open to the press, the players warmed up, stretched, and practiced mid-range shooting. After the session, Noah, the new Flamengo player, was one of the most sought-after by journalists thanks to his charismatic demeanor.
"I like soccer. My favorite team in Europe is PSG, which has had Brazilians like Leonardo and Raí. I've been here in Brazil once. It was when I was a teenager and I came with my parents. Now that I'm older, I want to drink a couple of caipirinhas, because I've been told they're very tasty," joked the giant Bulls center.
Despite all the excitement, Noah still doesn't know if he'll be able to face the Washington Wizards, as he's recovering from a left leg injury. The positive sign is that the center trained normally at Gávea and showed he's fit to play at least a few minutes. Despite the uncertainty regarding his starting lineup, Noah knows that if he does play, he'll have the full support of all the red-and-black fans present at HSBC Arena.
