Flamengo congratulates the CBF Competitions Director, Virgilio Elisio, for his prompt action in attending João Havelange Stadium to inspect the field and then make an immediate decision, as the circumstances required.

The Club recognizes, from the outset, the healthy nature of the measure to close the Stadium, despite the surprise caused by the correspondence received, on Monday at 19 pm, regarding the match on the following Saturday. 

  

The president of the Rio de Janeiro State Football Federation (FERJ), Rubens Lopes, also played his role in understanding the acute nature of this issue.

Flamengo immediately accepts the CBF's decision regarding the new date with discipline and confidence, as it rests on the balance and competence of its Competitions Director.
