The President of Clube de Regatas do Flamengo, Patricia Amorim,
We are issuing this public statement to clarify, in light of persistent comments reported in the press and within the Club, regarding the contract between Clube de Regatas do Flamengo and CFZ, concerning the use of youth division players from CFZ at Flamengo and vice versa, that:
1) When the contract was signed, on March 1, 2010, duly forwarded by the Vice-Presidency of Football, Mr. Arthur Antunes Coimbra (Zico) had not yet been invited to manage our Football Department.
2) It is worth noting that in this same contract, Clause Six states: Assignment of Rights – 6.1 – Neither Party may assign the rights arising from this instrument to third parties without prior written authorization from the other Party.
3) Nevertheless, as soon as the General Director of Football took over the football department, the contract between the two clubs was terminated.
Red-Black Greetings
Patricia Amorim
President
