Flamengo players show off their soccer and basketball uniforms
Olympikus has donned the Flamengo jersey. In just over a week of official partnership, the new supplier is celebrating dividends and planning for the future with some surprises.
During the week, many fans struggled to find the new uniforms in stores. Some stores only had pieces in a few sizes, while others sold out quickly. The company, represented by director Túlio Formicola, guarantees that everything will be back to normal by the end of the month. There's also anticipation for the arrival of the casual line in stores. One of the items, a powder-colored shirt.
The red-black team made a great impression during the presentation. \ Check out the interview with the director of Olympikus:\
GLOBOESPORTE.COM: Can we say that the partnership started off on the right foot?
Tullius Formicola: Our goal was to sell 200 shirts by launch day (July 1st). We exceeded that goal by 10%. And we're having trouble keeping our stores stocked. But things will be back to normal by the end of July. Especially since retailers are starting to see statistics on the most popular items. We have no complaints. What about the casual line? \
The casual line will launch in the second half of August. We'll keep these products available until the end of the year. In January, we'll launch the new official uniforms to adapt to the calendar. Could this news that Flamengo will have a new sponsor from October (Ale) somehow affect sales? \ I can't believe it. It's three months of Olympikus Tube and the fan will acquire a unique item: the first Flamengo shirt manufactured by the new supplier.\ And did Adriano's number change create any discomfort? \ Absolutely not. Flamengo's poll was for fans to choose his number. Number nine won, and he'll wear it for two more games. Then, when he takes on number ten, the new jersey will hit the market two days later, with the number and name.\ In 2007, the Vulcabras group released the "Penta Único" jersey for São Paulo, causing unrest in Gávea. Do you consider Flamengo to be five-time champions as well? It's an old issue, and I won't get into that controversy. We used to play for São Paulo. Now we're wearing Flamengo's jersey, and we're going to follow the club's history. And that doesn't just encompass soccer. We'll have teams for rowing and basketball.
Will there be a third uniform?
Yes, but he only leaves in 2010. Who knows, maybe for the Libertadores?
