From the Olympikus press office.
The largest sports sponsorship contract in Brazilian football is already yielding impressive results: Olympikus, Flamengo's official sports brand, sold 500.000 of the club's shirts in just over two months. Olympikus is the largest sports brand in the country, with approximately 15 points of sale and nationwide distribution. With this potential, the brand had already sold over 200 shirts through pre-sales a month before the contract's official launch on July 1st of this year.
“The figure of half a million items in just two months only shows the greatness of Flamengo and the pent-up potential of our brand,” said Delair Dumbroski, acting president of the red-and-black team.
The relationship between Olympikus and Flamengo was accompanied by a series of innovations and significant investments, befitting the club with the largest fan base in the world. Olympikus revived the club's traditional shirt designs, launched casual products based on fan and market research, and created new communication channels with fans.
And there are still many innovations on the way. Flamengo is expected to soon have a 1.300 m² megastore for its entire line of official and licensed merchandise, and Olympikus will also participate in the construction of the Gávea Museum, a long-held dream that will provide fans with a museum with the facilities of major foreign clubs and give Rio de Janeiro another landmark. "We've developed a major relationship project to unite the biggest brand in the country and the biggest soccer fan base in the world. It's a great honor and pleasure for us to be part of this story," said Tullio Formicola Filho, Sports Marketing Director at the Vulcabras/azaleia Group, responsible for the relationship between Olympikus and Flamengo.
