Due to the events of the last few weeks, the president of Flamengo's Deliberative Council, Sylvio Capanema de Souza, expressed, through an article published in the newspaper O Globo, last Thursday (15.07), his considerations on the supposed turbulence attributed by the media to the current Brazilian champion.

Once Flamengo, Flamengo until death!
More than 35 million people proudly sing our anthem.
Flamengo is a nation, born within another.
And like every nation, it writes its history, with its strengths and weaknesses, it has its heroes and its villains, martyrs and traitors.
Flamengo democratizes because it doesn't distinguish between classes, it unites men and women, rich and poor, black and white, doctors and illiterates. It takes to the streets, doesn't stay confined to its headquarters, climbs the hills, crosses borders, conquers time and distance, and brings all its children together, in the feeling of a single passion.
On November 15, 1895, when Flamengo was founded, something magical happened, one of those inexplicable moments that build eternity, that break the simple chronology of time, and that are the spark of energy that makes and writes the history of nations.
The red-black mystique spread throughout the country, like an epidemic in reverse, an epidemic of good, contaminating the pride of being Flamengo.
Being a Flamengo fan is a biological determinism. We are born Flamengo fans, we grow up Flamengo fans, and we die Flamengo fans.
He is a dream that is dreamed in the stands and in the palaces, he is a backwater and a rapid, reality and utopia, yesterday and tomorrow, because for us, red-blacks, he is everything.
Flamengo cannot be explained or defined. It can only be felt, as passions are felt.
He doesn't offer himself to us, we offer ourselves to him. He doesn't charge us for our lives, we give him our body and soul.
The regrettable episode involving goalkeeper Bruno affects, as it could not fail to do, Flamengo, but must be understood in its real and legal dimensions.
We can't condemn Brazil because we had a Calabar, nor Germany because of what Hitler did. Judas didn't make the entire human race despicable.
Bruno, whatever he has done, and despite the glories and titles he helped us win, he is not Flamengo, and he does not act in its name.
Flamengo is also Zico, Júnior, Zizinho, Andrade, and Rondinelli. It is also César Cielo, Patrícia Amorim (swimming), Oscar Shmidt, Marcelinho (basketball), Buck (rowing), Diego and Daniele Hipólito (gymnastics), and so many others who built its greatness, winning national and international titles.
There are millions of fans, who proudly celebrate victories and stoically suffer defeats.
The countless perverse and tasteless jokes circulating on the internet not only affect Flamengo, which is far above them, but they also disrespect the pain of those who loved the victim and belittle those who create or transmit them in the reprehensible celebration of the macabre and misfortune.
Flamengo suffers and bleeds with the victim, does not play with the crime, does not absolve the guilty, but cannot be condemned with them.
Bruno, or whoever, will never be able to kill Flamengo!
