Papo de Rubro-negro celebrates 100 years of football
Event held in Gávea was attended by idols and honored the red-black history on the pitch

The history of a football club is written by its idols. And on the day it celebrated 100 years of playing the world's most popular sport, Flamengo celebrated alongside many names who have contributed to this victorious past and others who will be able to write new chapters of glory.
The "Papo Rubro-negro" event was held at the FlaConcept store, at the club's headquarters in Gávea, and the theme this time was the centennial of Flamengo football. Among many jerseys from all eras, trophies, and photos representing the countless titles won, former and current players, as well as others from the youth divisions, shone.
Fernandinho, the Flamengo goalkeeper of the 30s, met Felipe, Flamengo's current number one, and Cantarele, the goalkeeper who wore the sacred jersey the most. Renato, who brought his entire family to the event, was able to kick a ball around with Adílio, Junior, and Luiz Antonio. All midfielders honor or have honored the jersey.
"Everyone calls me the Star, because I still get a lot of attention today. This recognition still honors me to this day. I'm very moved to be remembered for everything I did and experienced at this club," said Fernandinho.
Unable to hide her joy at seeing so many icons of the red-black history together, club president Patricia Amorim thanked everyone for the red-black victories over the years.
"I am immensely grateful to all of you who made Flamengo's history and were able to pass this tradition on to the current generation. You have held us hostage to this passion, and our hearts belong to you. Football is our flagship and has allowed the club to continue nurturing a legion of followers. All of this is only possible because each of you made a difference. You did your best and dedicated yourselves every day, every training session, every game. On behalf of this nation, I thank you for existing and making Flamengo so passionate," said Patricia Amorim.
Present at the Chat de Rubro-negro were, in addition to goalkeepers Fernandinho, Felipe and Cantarele and midfielders Renato, Adílio, Junior and Luiz Antonio, Esquerdinha (left winger and captain of the 50s), Nélio (also of the 50s), Paulo Henrique (60s) and his son Paulo Henrique, who played for Fla in 85 and is currently the coach of the juniors, Dionísio, Arílson, Liminha, Adílio, Cantareli, Jayme, Junior, Julio Cesar Uri Geller, Manguito, Adãozinhho, Silva Batuta, Vicentinho, Renato Carioca, Paulo Henrique, Valtinho, Gilmar Popoca, Nelsinho, Fred, Zé Mario, Rondinelli and Bigu.
Representing the red-black boards, vice-presidents Michel Levy, Henrique Brandão, Paulo Cesar Coutinho, Reinaldo Castro, Cristina Callou and Alexandre Wrobel were present.
