"Papo de rubro-negro" will pay tribute to the 1961 champions

The first edition of "Papo de rubro-negro," held just over a month ago, was a huge success. And the Flamengo Museum's initiative continues in full swing. The second edition of the event will be held this Thursday (June 16.06), at 19 p.m., at the FlaConcept Store in Gávea, and will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Rio-São Paulo Cup victory.
In addition to the celebration of the 1961 trophy, the champions Joubert, Carlinhos, "the Violin," Jordan, and Gerson, the "golden left-footer," will be honored. A roundtable discussion will also be held with notable Flamengo fans to endorse the club's claim to the 1940 Rio-São Paulo victory. Flamengo has compiled a dossier, which will be submitted to the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF), requesting recognition of the title.
Researchers Roberto Assaf, Mauricio Neves, Marcelo Abinader, Eduardo Vinícius, Bruno Lucena, Marcos Eduardo Neves and Celso Junior will take part in the round table.
Leading the project, Flamengo Museum director Mauro Chaves invites interested fans to attend.
"First and foremost, this is an event for Flamengo fans, a gathering of people interested in and passionate about Flamengo's cultural heritage. At this Thursday's meeting, we'll also have the opportunity to honor these great champions, just as we did in the first edition with Lan. The club's history is beautiful and deserves events like these," said Mauro Chaves.
After Thursday's meeting, "Papo de rubro-negro" (Red-Black Chat) has two more meetings planned. The first, called "Red-Black Relics," will be an exhibition of collector's items that hold great sentimental value to fans. The second will be a music festival featuring MBP (Brazilian Popular Mengo).
Neither event has a confirmed date yet. Flamengo's official website will soon release more information about the events.
