In her first speech as president-elect, delivered around midnight Monday to Tuesday (December 8), Councilwoman Patrícia Amorim praised the members who made her the first woman elected to the position in the club's 12-year history. She said that the election results held last Monday (December 114) represent the realization of a dream. "Being the first female president of Clube de Regatas do Flamengo, the largest club in the world, is bigger than any dream I could have dreamed. And I dreamed, and I arrived," said the former swimmer. She is expected to take office in early January for a three-year term (November 7, December 12).
Before asking everyone to sing the club anthem among those watching the vote count at the Hélio Mauricio Gymnasium in Gávea, Patrícia said the election was very difficult and thanked God. "My faith is unshakable. My biggest message was to remain worthy until the end. I always had a smile on my face and a lot of calm. And that's what Flamengo needs. The great response was at the polls," Patrícia commented.
According to her, after the achievements in soccer and basketball, the club's members want more. "The club wants more. The club wants improvements." Patricia also expressed gratitude for the words of the runner-up in the election, Delair Dumbrosck, of the Yellow List, who had moments earlier offered his support to the club. "You were very elegant, and Flamengo owes you a lot. You won important titles. I recognize yesterday's title, the team's improvement in the championship, and, as a Flamengo fan, I am so grateful to you," the president-elect told Delair Dumbrosck. "If we have any weaknesses, you can be sure I will knock on your door," she added in a message to Serpa Pinto.
According to Delair Dumbrosck, in a speech addressed to Patrícia, his time as president leaves a legacy. "During the eight months I spent at Flamengo, I spent them thinking about Flamengo. We left a magnificent store and a museum project underway. I want to make myself available to help in any way possible. I will always be by your side to assist with whatever you need." Plínio Serpa Pinto said that Flamengo is above all else. "All our projects are at your disposal," he emphasized.
