Patricia Amorim: "Nation, you can celebrate. The '87 title is ours"
Flamengo president explained recognition of the sixth title and dedicated work to the players and Carlinhos

With an auditorium packed with journalists, Patricia Amorim explained that the CBF (Brazilian Football Confederation) reevaluated a previous decision by its legal department after Flamengo's legal team presented new facts.
"Today is the happiest day since I took over as president of Flamengo. I would say it's one of the happiest days of my life. I emphasize the players' achievements on the field, but if there was any doubt about the hard work done by this board, there is no longer any. I would like to give special thanks to our legal department. Everyone is passionate about Flamengo and has dedicated themselves to this matter. All their technical work has supported the club in achieving this achievement," said Patricia.
Regarding the controversial "Taça das Bolinhas" (Ball Trophy), awarded to São Paulo last week, the president of Flamengo made a very polite appeal to the board of the São Paulo club.
"I haven't followed anything that was said today about this. Honestly, I don't know if São Paulo has taken a position or not, but I hope the club has the nobility to return the trophy to Caixa Econômica Federal. Once our 87 title is established, Flamengo becomes the first five-time Brazilian champion. I hope they recognize that," said the Flamengo director.
When asked what she expects from the president of São Paulo, in particular, Patricia Amorim maintained her stance, but brought up an important fact.
"As I said before, Flamengo will await São Paulo's decision. Even more so since the current president, Juvenal Juvêncio, was president of the club at the time of the title and signed documents recognizing Flamengo as champion. I expect that from him," he concluded, praising the red-black victory.
"I'm enjoying it more than they did when they received the Cup, without a doubt. Especially because it's legitimate."
