Flamengo president Patricia Amorim secured another political victory this Monday. As second vice president on Fábio Koff's ticket in the Club of 13 election, the Flamengo leader and her teammates defeated their rivals by 12 votes to eight.
Koff, former president of Grêmio, was elected for the next three years and received votes from the following clubs: Atlético-MG, Atlético-PR, Bahia, Palmeiras, Flamengo, Fluminense, Grêmio, Guarani, Internacional, Portuguesa, São Paulo and Sport. Kleber Leite, who was also running for the position, was voted for by Botafogo, Corinthians, Coritiba, Cruzeiro, Goiás, Santos, Vasco and Vitória.
After the election ended, Patricia Amorim celebrated her victory and said what will mark her time at the Club of 13: transparency.
"I'm very happy with this victory and pleased to be part of this new era in Brazilian football. My mission is to help modernize football, taking on responsibilities and fulfilling my commitments. Above all, just like at Flamengo, transparency in management is essential. That's how I work and that's how I'll continue to face this new challenge," said the Flamengo president, who was highly praised for her determination.
Looking ahead, the Club of 13 should meet at Flamengo's headquarters, but without a set date.
