Despite not scoring a goal, Petkovic was the star of Flamengo's 5-2 victory over Atlético de Madrid. The game, valid for the second round of the Club World Cup, was held on Thursday night (11.07), at the Sapucaí Arena, in Rio de Janeiro. The goalscorers were Felipe Falcão, Mikimba, Dabá, Roni and Dias. The result qualified the Mais Querido to the semifinals of the competition.
With the victory, Flamengo remains top of Group A with six points, level with Fluminense, but with a better goal difference than Fluminense. On Friday night (July 12.07), the two Rio teams will face off in search of sole leadership of the group. The semifinals will be held this Saturday (July 13.07), starting at 15:30 pm, but the matchups are not yet defined.
