Flamengo fans get their own day. The tributes to Flamengo fans continue. Following the retirement of number 12, Mayor César Maia has declared "Flamengo Fan Day." The commemorative date will be October 28, the same day as the club's patron saint, Saint Jude Thaddeus.

The new Rio de Janeiro law came into effect last Monday and was authored by Councilman Jorge Mauro. "Flamengo Fan Day" is now part of the city's official calendar.
