President inaugurates new changing rooms in Gávea
Renovation was a long-standing request from users of the Fadel Fadel Aquatic Park

A survey conducted in January at the request of Flamengo's presidency highlighted the renovation priorities identified by members and non-members who frequent the club's social headquarters in Gávea. According to the study, 26% of respondents wanted bathrooms and locker rooms renovated. Less than two months later, president Patricia Amorim inaugurated the new locker rooms at Fadel Fadel Aquatic Park this Thursday (April 01.04).
The attention focused on the club's pools isn't based on the fact that the director made history in the water. According to the same survey mentioned above, 57% of the club's daily poolgoers are Fadel Fadel users.
"We're getting the house in order. I'm happy to contribute to improving Flamengo's headquarters. We still have a lot to do. I'm a regular here and I really like it. Members can be sure that we'll continue at this same pace during the three years of my term. This is our home and we have to take good care of it," said Patricia Amorim.
And the improvements announced for the pools at Gávea Aquatic Park will make life even better for the red-and-black fans who frequent the club.
"What's happening today is just the beginning. We can't stop here. We intend to renovate the entire pool structure and bring it up to Flamengo's standards. Members can be sure that we will make many more improvements," said Cacau Cotta, general director of Fla-Gávea, the department responsible for managing Flamengo's headquarters.
The survey also indicates that renovating the pool bleachers is a priority for club members. Another point they highlighted is the children's play area. Those responsible are aware of the damage and are working to make amends.
"We do intend to renovate the stands. It's something we'll do, but not right now. In addition to the renovation, we want to install new locker rooms and a physiotherapy room. That will happen in the medium to long term," said Cristina Callou, vice president of Olympic sports.
"We secured a top-of-the-line children's playground for R$80. However, it was completely free. It will be installed soon for members to enjoy," revealed Cacau Cotta.
