So far, Flamengo has the best average attendance in the championship: 25.843 (paying) fans, pushing the team forward. And the team has been fighting relegation since the beginning of the season. As of noon this Thursday, 37 tickets had been sold for the match against leaders São Paulo, at 20:30 pm. Mengão fans seem very eager and are lining up at Maracanã to secure a seat.

Sport's fans have been crucial to the team's recovery in the Brazilian Championship. Other Flamengo fans, especially Sport fans, are following suit. The Lion's average attendance at Ilha do Retiro is 25.238. According to CBF data, the Pernambuco team leads in overall attendance statistics. So far, they've brought 353.338 people to the stadium in 14 matches. After all, the team is fighting for a spot in the Copa Sudamericana. However, the top spot is under threat. This Wednesday, in the 4-0 victory over Goiás, 23.372 (attendance) fans watched the game. This number is slightly below average. In 13 matches, Flamengo has attracted 335.964 people to Maraca.

Fla is close to breaking a record

In addition to taking the lead, Flamengo has the chance to break the attendance record for this season's Brazilian Championship. The team attracted 51.552 paying fans to their 1-1 draw against Sport on September 1st. According to estimates from Flamengo's fundraising coordinator, Flávio Pereira, 60 people are expected to pay for tickets to watch the match against Tricolor (watch the video below).
