The Academic Meal, which will be held next Monday (11.04), at 13 pm, at Petit Trianon, will bring together Academics and benefactors of Flamengo, with the presence of President Patrícia Amorim, coach Vanderlei and Luxemburgo and star Ronaldinho Gaúcho, at the Brazilian Academy of Letters (ABL).
Academic Marcos Vinicios Vilaça will present the Joaquim Nabuco Medal to the honorees and the Charanga de Jaime de Almeida, who have entertained the fans since the days of the great classics in Gávea, will play in the ABL courtyard to liven up the lunch.
The ABL will celebrate the 110th anniversary of the birth of Academician José Lins do Rego (the most red-and-black of writers) and, on this occasion, the president of the Academy Marcos Vinicios Vilaça will gather a group of personalities to, in the company of President Patrícia Amorim, coach Vanderlei Luxemburgo and star Ronaldinho Gaúcho and great benefactors, pay tribute to Clube de Regatas do Flamengo.
"Zé Lins left a body of work that definitively marked Brazilian literature, placing it among the classics of the Northeastern cycle. He was truly an academic with two passions: literature and soccer. He left a book of chronicles entirely dedicated to Flamengo," said Vilaça.
At the ABL, José Lins do Rego was the fourth occupant of Chair No. 25, elected on September 15, 1955, in succession to Ataulfo de Paiva and received by Academician Austregésilo de Athayde, on December 15, 1956. José Lins do Rego, author of the classic "Menino de Engenho", was a novelist and journalist.
