Repudiation of vulgarity

Flamengo rejects offensive and rude behavior against the club's president

By - in
Clube de Regatas do Flamengo vehemently condemns the offensive, intemperate, uncivilized and rude conduct of Mr. Rubens Lopes, president of the Rio de Janeiro State Football Federation.

During the Arbitration Council meeting held at the FERJ headquarters on the afternoon of Friday, January 30, 2015, in a regrettable demonstration of emotional imbalance in the position he occupies, he attacked in a low and unfortunate manner the honor of president Eduardo Bandeira de Mello, and offended the institution by stating that the club is "stealing" from other FERJ members through its Fan Member Program,

The president of FERJ resorted to the most sordid offenses, with the indiscriminate use of foul language, totally inappropriate for the high-level discussions that Flamengo has been trying to establish with the entity, sister clubs, the press, government and civil society in general.

Lack of education, verbal imprudence and bad manners are unacceptable and reveal a model of professional sports management that no longer finds space in the market or support from society.

Flamengo and President Eduardo Bandeira de Mello will pursue the path of justice for full moral, criminal and sporting reparations for the damages they have suffered.

Finally, Flamengo publishes this note based on the freedom of expression guaranteed by the Federal Constitution, which grants it the prerogative to speak out against any and all measures that violate its rights.
