Confao, the Council of Clubs Training Olympic Athletes, made up of eight national clubs (Flamengo, Fluminense, Vasco da Gama, Pinheiros, Corinthians, Sogipa, Minas Tênis and Grêmio), met early in the afternoon of this Tuesday (31/03), in the office of the president of CRFlamengo.
The topics on the agenda included topics such as the criteria for participation of new members, the next steps of the entity, in addition to the manifesto of the Ministry of Sports, which has already signaled support for the clubs, creating a commission that will propose changes to Decree No. 5.139/2004, which regulates the Agnelo-Piva Law, to meet the demands of the clubs involved.
For acting president Delair Dumbrosck, the meeting between club leaders, the true trainers of Olympic athletes, was very productive: "I believe we are at the beginning of a struggle that will bear good fruit for Olympic sports in Brazil. The meeting was prestigious and successful, with all the presidents in attendance."
The clubs' action aims to establish a new distribution of federal resources allocated to Olympic sports, as the current distribution model does not consider the associations that pay for the training and maintenance of high-performance athletes in the country.
