In the last part of the interview with Rodrigo Tostes, Flamengo's vice president of finance (read the first part here e the second one here), fans can learn more about the club's economic development and what they can expect in the coming years. While noting that financial reform will require some sacrifices, Tostes made a point of emphasizing that Rubro-Negro will increasingly strive for titles.

Toasts: We're on a path of change in football. One of the legacies we want to leave at the club is to show that it's possible. There's pressure, there's pressure, but we have to lay our heads on the pillow and ask ourselves whether or not we're doing the right thing. And I truly believe we are. Those who don't believe in the professionalization of football, in the professionalization of clubs, think we're headed down the wrong path. But we won't pay 700, 800, or a million reais for an athlete and leave our employees' salaries two or three months late. That's not an option.

Today, we'll take one step at a time. In 2013, we had problems; today, they're fewer. There's no longer any unpredictability. Of the surprises we had to face, the most recent was the Central Bank, which we encountered recently, something completely absurd. But the tendency is for that to stop happening. We have predictability. We sat down with Wrobel and Alexandre Póvoa and were able to program and plan our investments, taking one step at a time, but the important thing is to move forward.

Toasts: As a passionate fan, it's about putting passion and reason in the same pot. It's very difficult, but we have to do it. I often say that Flamengo has been World Champion, Carioca Champion, Copa do Brasil Champion, and Brazilian Champion, but the greatest legacy we will leave is to restore the club's credibility. You can be sure we will win many titles. What we believe is that we need to reclaim the brand, reclaim the club, to take this step consistently.

We'll no longer fight to be champions one year and avoid relegation the next. That won't happen anymore. It's one step at a time, and we're on the right track. The hardest decision is to fulfill everything I'm saying and reduce our investment levels, knowing that we have R$60 million in cash and have to pay off past debt. We could be investing in athletes, here at the club, in much better conditions than we have today, but we know we're doing the right thing. The nation can trust that today the money that comes in here is allocated correctly and transparently. We publish our financial statements, meaning the funds are being well spent and for the club.

Toasts: You can expect improvement. A better team, one that we can fulfill our commitments and that each day we will be following and pursuing the right path. The path to credibility, a better Flamengo, more strength, and more titles. That's how we'll reach and achieve all our goals.
