Flamengo's new coach gave his first interview after signing with the club. Silas is in Campinas, watching the match against Guarani, and spoke with the official website team moments before heading to the Brinco de Ouro da Princesa Stadium. The coach expressed optimism and confidence that the team has what it takes to make a run in the second half of the Brazilian Championship.

Known for his attacking style of play, Silas promises to invest in the club's traditions and promises the Red-Black Nation a lot of hard work to achieve results. The new coach is already traveling to Rio and will be introduced on Monday (August 30.08) in Gávea. He could lead the team in the match against Cruzeiro on Wednesday (September 01.09) in Minas Gerais.

Agreement with Flamengo - It's a great joy to manage a team with such a beautiful history, the last Brazilian champion, and the conversations I had with Zico, Patricia, and Isaias have left me very excited. Within the restructuring process taking place at the club, it's great for me to be part of it. I'm very happy.

Playing style - We can't change the club's appearance. Just like at Grêmio, when I arrived, we always wanted a warrior-like Grêmio. That's part of the club's tradition. At Flamengo, you have to play forward, attack, and score goals... That was Zico's way of playing here, it was mine when I was a player, and I'll try to implement that in my daily life. While also focusing on the defensive aspect, of course, which is crucial in today's football.

Technical Committee - There won't be any problems working with the committee. Everything went very smoothly. Logistics and work are going smoothly.

Message to the Fans - Fans can be sure we'll work hard. I've been making good progress over the past three years, with important achievements, and now it's time to keep it up. We'll dedicate ourselves, work hard, and strive for positive results.

Work - A coach doesn't play alone. We need to work together, and having lived alongside others for many years, I have a feeling for it and will try to impose my concepts on a daily basis. First, I'll talk, I'll analyze the group, so we can achieve good results. It has to be done step by step. I'll introduce myself, present my proposal, and, based on that, lay a foundation for this new stage.

Fight for positions - We have the entire second round ahead of us, and there's still plenty of time to fight for the top spots. We don't want to stay in the middle of the table. The squad is qualified, and we can certainly fight for a spot in the top four and even a second title. We have to aim high.
