The Flamengo's big victories in the Brasileirão aren't just being highlighted by the Brazilian press. Proof of this is that the FIFA website, the governing body of world football, reports that Flamengo's 2-0 victory over Grêmio is part of a surprising rise.

The website of the highest football authority highlights the fact that Fla has gone from second-to-last place to just three points from the zone that qualifies teams for the next Copa Libertadores.

"In a round that saw the defeats of favorites Cruzeiro and Santos, Flamengo maintained its surprising rise, leaving second-to-last place and closing in on the top four, teams that will advance to the next Libertadores. In front of 74 fans, the Rubro-Negro defeated Grêmio 2-0, also aspiring to a Libertadores spot, and was just three points away from the coveted South American elite."
